If TAM is correctly communicating with the PLC, the automatic generated system variable "Device State" will be set to "1".
Which TILA-Version, modem type and FW version are you using ?

FW = Firmware Version (Alarm Modem -> Properties).
Which PLC type did you choose in TILA ? For the new CL series you'll have to choose Moeller Easy 500/700 (ABB CL is an OEM version it).

Thats fine. My FW 2.2.0 and followed.
Am currently experiencing a new problem. Am able to upload soft from TAM but when i try to load from PC to TAM (same project or different) i get the following error:
Upload Failed!
The Alarm modem did not respond in time.
Please increase the communication timeout at Options-> Connection.
Have tried all the 4 timeout options and none seems to work.
I cant proceed further due to this error.

No, that's only the display for the compatibility mode ! I meant the firmware version number in the modem properties. It should be 2.0.0.0 or 2.2.12.0. Only the 2.2.12.0 supports ABB CL ! Did you try to factory reset the modem ? Can you email us the TILA project and TILA-Log to reproduce the problem ?

Thank you for the logfile. It seems that the COM2 of your HG27 is faulty.
Please try to factory reset your Alarm Modem. If it doesn't fix the problem, contact your dealer for warranty.

I've received it. The configuration of the PLC communication seems to be OK. Is the ABB CL secured by an interface password ?
Are you able to access the ABB CL trough the modem using the ABB software (TILA connection type "PLC local at Alarm Modem, using 4800bps, 8N1, DeactivateDTR) ?

I've located the problem: you've forgotten to add PLC variables within TILA ! The modem needs to know which variable to query, so you have to add all variables, that you want to use for data logging or alarming...

Let me try it and
I do have a serial port password but TILA has no option for this. I think we a have to do it via TICO if I have to preserve the password.
any guidance to do thru TICO?

That's not supported. You'll have to remove the serial password, but you can keep the program password.
