Hello,

I have Version 2.2.0.164 Tila software and an HG71 modem with firmware version 2.1.15.0.

also at online modemproperties:
TIX2020\01341101\MODEM\AMB3100\Tixi Alarm Modem GSM
serial: 01341101

As soon as I get online it states at "selection of alarmmodem" firmware version "2.2.0 and folowed" even if you selected 2.0.0 offline.

The modem does everyting (reading variables in the PLC, accept switch event by SMS to change a bit in the PLC. Works fine.

But....sending an SMS (alarm or statusrequest) does not work well. Eventually I managed te get an SMS from the modem but only with some strange code in the message. While sending a message (tiggered by service button) It looks like it's trying to send something, the PC for configuration disconnects and all leds start flashing for a while. later on I can connect and the modem turns back to "normal". The SIM-card doesn't hold a PIN-code.

Does this have to do with a version conflict? a but? am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance,

Ronald

First of all i'd recommend to update TILA and the modem firmware, because your are using beta versions. Maybe that already sort out the problem.
I'll send you the necessary update links via email.

That's OK. FW 2.1.15.0 is treated like FW 2.2.

Please post the last entries of the Job Processing logfile.
Which GSM provider do you use ?

Thanks for the quick response!

First tried to load the new firmware to the modem...modem did not accept. Reported something about licences etc.

Tried the new TILA2 software....didn't help much.

But...later on I tried to load the new firmware again and now the modem did accept.

From now on the modem works much more reliable (keeps connection with the PC) and above all...It sends SMS the way it should be.
It appeared to be a firmware bug.

So...from now on the modem works PERFECTLY FINE for as far as I can see now.

Thanks again for your fast response and the software updates you sent me.

If you get a "licence conflict", you can set the modem manually in update mode: Just power on the modem while you press the service button ->
the line led flashes. In this mode, the update will work always.

I think the problem was you BETA-Version of TILA2. The BETA was not compatible with the FW 2.1.15.0 and has created a syntax that the modem didn't understand.
With TILA 2.2.0.220 it doeesn't matter if you create a project for FW 2.1.15.0 or 2.2.12.....it will always work.

I'm not quite sure the TILA2 software was the solution.
when the old firmware was still in, I also tried with the TILA2.2.0.220 and it did not help.
Only after the new firmware was in the modem, the modem worked well.

Maybe it's a combination of the two things (FW and TILA2)

Anyway...It works well now!
