To increase performance and stability, the MPI connection was completely redesigned.
- As soon as you access the Alarm Modem using PG/PC interface "TS-Adapter" or "PC-Adapter (MPI)" a "TransMode" to the built in MPI adapter is established. This is signaled by the red "Modem Mode" LED.
This eliminates problems during detection of double MPI adresses and MPI adapter initialization.
Unfortunately this change prevents the simultaneaous Alarm Modem variable monitoring (alarming / data logging) during Step7 access. If you need the simultaneous communication, keep version 2.2.12.0.
- After a Step7 access the Alarm Modem COM1 can only be accessed by TICO/TILA if the red "Modem Mode" becomes off.
- Settings written by TILA/TICO (e.g. TS/HSA) will be transfered to the MPI adapter. As soon as a TILA/TICO project becomes active, Step7 TeleService "Assign Adapter Parameters" option can not be used to change these settings (they will be automatically reset to the TILA/TICO values).
Settings not defined by TILA/TICO can be changed using "Assign Adapter Parameters"; the settings will complement one another.
Example: If "TS" exists inside the TILA/TICO project, this setting has precedence over the "Assign Adapter Parameters" option.
If "TS" does not exist inside the TILA/TICO project, it can be changed using "Assign Adapter Parameters" option.
- Users configured in the TS adapter will be deleted (if no user defined in TICO), or replaced as soon as a TILA/TICO project is loaded.
After changing user details, a restart of the Alarm Modem is recommended.
- A factory reset no longer deletes adapter parameters.
- CallBack is no longer supported.
- The MPI protocol version number is written to the SupportLog to identify the adapter firmware version.
- Firmware 2.2.72.0 requires an up-to-date built in MPI adapters (FW 3.26b6). SupportLog entry for 3.26b6:<MPI><Protocol _="V00.84"/></MPI>
