What exactly do you mean by "Modem broke for me" ? What is the LED status ?
Please give a detailed problem description.. Normally the modem doesn't "loose" it's firmware, so why do you need the firmware ?

Does MXMAE successfully connect to the modem ?
Please send us the MXMAE communication log with an connection / project transfer attempt.
Wich kind of RS232 interface do you use at your computer (native or USB converter) ?

Can you try it on another computer or with another RS232 interface ?
Some USB RS232 converters have problems with RTS/CTS hardware handshake as we use it for MXMAE.

Did you already test it on another PC or RS232 port ?

Did you try a factory reset using the Service Button (see Hardware manual for details) ?

Which kind of RS232 interface had the other PC you tested ?
Disable the option
"Tools->Programm Options->Delay after opening the COM-Port".
Any change ? If not -> return the modem to your dealer.
