Often we are asked about the difference between a Tixi AT Modem and a "normal" modem.
First of all a Tixi AT Modem follows the
Hayes standard , which means it understands the same commands like other modems.
However, furthermore a Tixi AT Modem is also a
industrial modem which e.g. automatically recognizes
11-bit-data communication which is required by many PLC systems with unusual data formats (e.g., 1 start bit, 8 data bits, even parity bit, 1 stop bit = 11 bit).
In the end, a Tixi AT Modem has
built-in user memory as well as
extended AT commands . With this the Tixi AT Modem can send e.g.
SMS, fax or e-mails , as well as
receive SMS and emails for further processing without having the connected device knowing the necessary protocols.
